Spring is at the door and it is smoothie time again! Smoothies are just a very simple way to make a quick and healthy snack. It can easily be made vegetarian or vegan based on the ingredients you pick. You can either use fresh or frozen fruit, it does not matter. Remember that frozen fruit preserves the same nutrients and properties of fresh fruit, it lasts longer, and there is no need to add ice to the smoothie.
– frozen strawberries and frozen blueberries
– 1/2 banana
– non fat plain yogurt, I used Greek yogurt
– non fat milk
– lemon juice (or grapefruit or orange juice)
– honey (optional)
Mix all the ingredients in a food processor until smooth. You can really play with quantities if you prefer more the taste of strawberries or blueberries, and you can add more milk if you like it more liquid.
Serve in a cold glass and…enjoy!
